JA241 GMGA2013 KUMP E MALAYSIAN CONSTITUTION

This course examines the content and position of the Federal Constitution as the supreme law of the nation. The discussion begins with the definition of the concept of constitution, historical background and characteristics of the Federal Constitution. Then follows by sources of Malaysian law and the traditional elements in the Federal Constitution. An analysis of the roles and functions of major institutions and elements of government such as the monarchy, parliament, executive and judiciary will be further discuss. The final part of this course will focuses on the provisions related to position of Islam in the Constitution, fundamental rights, subversion and emergency and powers, as well as elections and federalism.
