FC233 GMGF5043 KUMP A ECONOMICS ANALYSIS FOR POLICY DECISIONS
This course aims to equip the managers with an overview of relevant economic issues in a private and public context. Starting with an exposition of the fundamental economic concepts and examining the workings of the market system. Different market structures and their impact on organizations are reviewed. Relevant aspects of the macroeconomic are introduced with a focus on public & private impact and decision-making. Specific problems like inflation, growth, and the control of business cycles will be addressed. This is followed by an exposition of international economic issues. The course ends with a research activity that will pull all the course strands together and prepare students fully for the assessment. Various macroeconomic tools will be used to analyze how government policy measures in regulating and planning to overcome economic imbalance will be discussed. By the end of the course, the student should be able to evaluate macroeconomic arguments in the economic situation critically and to understand the nature of economic policy issues at the conceptual level.
